Specialty Medication Benefit Program Information Noblesville Schools has partnered with Archimedes to manage select medical specialty medications. Archimedes offers high-touch clinical and safety programs designed for the unique needs of patients taking these complex and costly medications. Specialty Medication Specialty medications are generally prescribed for people with complex or ongoing medical conditions such as HIV, multiple sclerosis, hemophilia and rheumatoid arthritis. These high-cost medications also have one or more of the following characteristics: ◼ Injected or infused, but some may be taken by mouth ◼ Unique storage or shipment requirements ◼ Additional education and support required from a health care professional ◼ Typically not stocked at retail pharmacies Prior Authorization and Prescription Many specialty medications require an approved prior authorization before they can be dispensed. Prior authorizations for select specialty medications will be managed by Archimedes. As part of the prior authorization process, your provider must submit all necessary clinical information to Archimedes for clinical review. After reviewing the information provided in the prior authorization request, Archimedes will either approve or deny the request and notify you and your prescriber of this determination. If you have questions about the status of your prior authorization request or how your doctor can submit a prior authorization request to Archimedes, please contact Archimedes Case Management at 888-533-6096. If your prior authorization request is approved, your prescriber will need to submit a prescription to the correct specialty pharmacy for you to fill your medication.
