Explore now, and be ready for enrollment Insurance Voluntary Short Term Disability Income Insurance (All Eligible Non-Service personnel) Life doesnt stop when youre unable to work. Replace 60% of your weekly earnings for 12 weeks if an illness, injury, pregnancy/childbirth or other disability keeps you from your job. The benefit waiting period for a disability caused by an accident or injury is 7 days. The benefit waiting period for a disability caused by sickness is 7 days. Long Term Disability Income Insurance (Employer Paid) If your disability lasts longer than your short term disability insurance, youll be ready. Benefits are paid to replace 60% to a maximum of $15,000 per month of your income until you recover or for the maximum duration indicated in your certificate, if an illness, injury or other disability keeps you from your job. All Eligible Faculty/Professional Personnel and Exempt/Non-Exempt Staff Your benefit waiting period is 90 consecutive days within 180 calendar days. All Eligible Service Personnel your benefit waiting period is 180 consecutive days within 360 calendar days. Any days that you are able to work after the start of your disability will not count toward your waiting (elimination) period.
